Fosbury & Sons The Office 'Boitsfort'
Fosbury & Sons’ second location - the former headquarters of cement company CBR - is located close to the Sonian Forest and only 10 minutes away from Avenue Louise. The eye-catching building is a modernist masterpiece by post-war architect Constantin Brodzki. After graduating from La Cambre, he travelled to the United States by boat, and found a placement working on the Oscar Niemeyer-designed United Nations headquarters, which were completed in 1952. Back in Belgium he began exploring the possibilities of modern building techniques, thanks to his keen interest in technology.
The structure’s remarkable façade was made of 756 prefab convex oval concrete modules. The parallel lines that follow each other give the nine-storey building a monolithic feel, with the discreet entrance indicating its office function. The sculptural forms, unusual for office buildings, kicked off a whole new wave in Belgian architecture. It earned Brodzki an inclusion in the ‘Transformations in Modern Architecture 1960-1980’ exposition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as the only Belgian architect.
Fosbury & Sons founders Stijn Geeraets, Maarten Van Gool and Serge Hannecart (LIFE) immediately fell in love with the remarkable building. While exploring the inside - with its incredible attention to detail - and surroundings, they got overwhelmed by the total package.
The character of the building, its history, its exceptional architecture, the spirit of the age in which it was built….It just fit. It has an extraordinary architecture and it’s also super functional. - Stijn Geeraets
Fosbury & Sons’ The Office 'Boitsfort' occupies 7000 square metres, spread over 7 of the building’s 9 floors, with 3 extra floors below ground level for parking. In addition to the ‘Suites’ (private office spaces) and ‘Ateliers’ (shared private office spaces), there are numerous other shared workspaces throughout the building. For example, the lobby with bar on the ground floor is the perfect place to work and meet people in a pleasant and productive environment. F & S Boitsfort has a capacity of 600 people and 250 different companies.
Fosbury & Sons Boitsfort also provides its members with a restaurant by Coffeelabs and the very pleasant Bar 'Giorgio', which offers a panoramic view over the Sonian Forest from the 8th floor. 15 top-notch meeting rooms – equipped with all the necessary technology -, 1 large event room (the lobby) and Bar Giorgio are available for rent to members and non-members. As is the auditorium with a large screen that can accommodate up to 75 people. Similar to Antwerp, a lot of space is made available for art, in collaboration with Brussels art galleries Rodolphe Janssen and Veerle Verbakel Gallery, artists Perry Roberts and Florian Tomballe and the Private Art Support Foundation or simply Pasfoundation.
In addition to this new location, Fosbury & Sons is also launching a brand new mobile application. The aim of the app is to connect members with each other, in order to stimulate communication in real life. Users can indicate who they would like to have a coffee or lunch or even play a game of pool with. Not only does the application look good, it also aims to facilitate some practical matters.
- Book a meeting room
- Consult and interact with an event calendar
- Consult the daily changing menu
- Indicate whether something needs to be repaired - handyman to the rescue
Design agency Going East, founded by interior architects Anaïs Torfs and Michiel Mertens, have provided the new Fosbury & Sons building with luxurious, professional interiors, exuding a mature and warm feel while respecting the already existing structures and identity of the building. Other Going East-branded projects are gastronomic restaurant Veranda, craft bakery Konditori, Japanese-inspired hairdresser ISU, and brand new ‘office deli’ Midori.
In cooperation with Centrauto and Bolides, F&S tackles the mobility problem. Fosbury & Sons members can use one of the beautiful shared BMW cars, which can be booked using the Bolides mobile application. In addition, Centrauto, in collaboration with CenShuttle, ensures smooth shuttle services to and from Zaventem Airport, and also offers shuttle services for groups.

BRUXELLES MA BELLE
In 2019, Fosbury & Sons will open two more locations in Brussels. The 3 new locations - totalling 15,000 m2 - will be inspiring and professional workplaces in the city where entrepreneurs, digital nomads, and small and large companies come together. Fosbury & Sons members will have access to all locations. A good geographical spread is therefore essential. Fosbury & Sons founders Stijn Geeraets and Maarten Van Gool look for the right local partners and employees for each new location, as they believe local anchoring is crucial and contributes to the feeling of 'coming home'.
1/ Fosbury & Sons 'Albert'. Opening planned for spring 2019
5,000 m2 in the heart of Brussels. The slogan 'The office is dead' will become a reality on Albert II Avenue. Fosbury & Sons really wants to breathe new life into the stereotypical office environment by completely revaluing the typical office building. After its renovation, Fosbury & Sons 'Albert’ will become a 'zero-energy' building. The founders of Fosbury & Sons strongly believe in the future of this area, with its central location close to Brussels-North and the future KANAL Centre Pompidou.
2/ Fosbury & Sons 'Alfons'. Opening planned for spring 2019
3,000 m2 in Groot-Bijgaarden. Offers excellent accessibility with a location near major access roads. An old warehouse, which is being completely renovated in collaboration with CAS architects and Going East.

Fosbury & Sons creates a quality working environment that inspires before, during and after work.
With Fosbury & Sons we want to meet the needs of the current generation. Today’s employees and freelancers do not want a grey office environment. At Fosbury & Sons they find a professional and mature workplace, with useful services that increase their quality of life, such as interesting lectures, professional consulting services etc. We also offer fun activities during and after work with concerts, a cosy bar and lobby, a library, delicious and healthy food, sports lessons and much more. - Maarten Van Gool
Let's bring work to life
Fosbury & Sons wants to revive the concept of 'work' and encourages collaborations across company borders, welcoming freelance workers, business nomads and employees of small or large companies from different sectors inside or outside the city. This allows them to work together and create a strong and valuable network.
Employees of companies from other cities are also catered for at Fosbury & Sons, allowing them to work in a professional environment from their home city. This new way of working can partly compensate for the mobility problem. Employees do not have to commute to head office every day, but can still work together with their colleagues in a professional environment.
Fosbury & Sons is the inspiring answer to the traditional grey office and similar work mentality. Collaborations across company borders, both literally and figuratively, enable flexibility and entrepreneurship.
With a monthly membership or tailor-made package you too can rent a professional workspace at Fosbury & Sons in a beautiful, social and fully serviced environment. An overview of the different memberships can be found below.
